adidas Pickleball announces landmark partnership with Staksrud
It’s been just over a week since Federico Staksrud announced that he would no longer be representing JOOLA on the pickleball court, and we already know whose paddle he’ll be wielding at his next tournament.
Staksrud and adidas Pickleball collectively announced their partnership on Monday morning in what could go down as a landmark move for adidas as they look to increase their foothold in the pickleball equipment market.
“Federico Staksrud represents the pinnacle of what it means to be a champion,” said Bryan Ogle from adidas Pickleball. “As the #1 men’s player in the world, his dedication to the sport, relentless pursuit of excellence, and unmatched passion for pickleball make him the perfect addition to the adidas Pickleball family.”
According to the official press release, Staksrud will also debut a signature paddle as part of this collaboration, set to be launched in April 2025. This is especially significant because he never had a chance to create a signature paddle while he was with JOOLA, despite establishing himself as one of the best players in the world.
“Developing my own signature paddle with a brand renowned for its innovation and quality is an exciting opportunity. I’m thrilled to work with adidas to set a new standard in pickleball equipment and continue to inspire players around the world,” he affirmed.
This is just the latest milestone in what has been a busy start to the year for Staksrud. After making the finals of all three events at the PPA Masters, he also secured the top ranking in men’s doubles, surpassing Ben Johns and Collin Johns to do so.
Things just keep looking up for the Argentine.
Staksrud will not be competing at next week’s Australia Pickleball Open, so fans will get to see him represent adidas for the first time at the Proton Tucson Open, set to run Feb. 5-9.
